The Journees 2014 will be focused on the issues related to the celestial reference frame and system, relativity and time scales, Earth rotation and geodynamics, numerical standards, ephemerides and dynamical models for planetary systems, future development of astronomical software, etc. This will include special consideration of the progress of the ESA Gaia mission and of the VLBI2010 project, as well as of the realization of the next ICRF. Practical information and submission of abstracts ------------------------------------------------- The web page of the Journees 2014 is available at http://journees2014.gao.su It contains a general description of the Journees, the addresses for contact, the rationale of the Journees 2014 and links to the list of the previous Journees and the Proceedings of the Journees 2003 to 2011. The Journees 2014 web page will be updated regularly in order to contain the up-to-date information regarding the programme, participants and practical information. On-line registration and instructions for submitting an abstract will be posted shortly. Preliminary Scientific programme -------------------------------- The programme will include sessions on: - Celestial reference system and frame - Relativity and time scales - Solar and extrasolar systems dynamics - Earth's rotation and geodynamics - Astronomical almanacs and software Oral and poster presentations proposals are encouraged on all these topics. In addition, there will be special discussion on the progress of the IAU Division A working groups, such as "Third Realisation of International Celestial Reference Frame", "Pulsar-based Timescales". The final list of the WG meetings will be posted later. Visa ---- Foreign participants from most countries need a visa to enter Russian Federation. More information on visa arrangement will be posted soon to the Conference Webpage. Weather ------- Usually the weather in Saint-Petersburg in the last decade of September is not cold (diurnal temperature is about 10 degrees C), but rain is quite possible.
