************************************************************************ IERS Message No. 424 February 25, 2021 ************************************************************************ IVS election results and new chair Dear IERS colleagues, The IVS has recently held elections for the IVS Directing Board (DB) chair, as well as for two IVS DB representative positions and three IVS DB at-large positions. We are pleased to share with you the announcement that Dr. Ruediger Haas, of the Onsala Space Observatory of the Chalmers University of Technology in Onsala, Sweden, is the newly elected IVS DB chair. He will succeed Dr. Axel Nothnagel and serve a term of four years, commencing on March 1. The official handover of the reins will occur at the next DB meeting on March 25. Ruediger also serves as the IVS representative to the IERS. The newly elected representatives for the period February 2021 to February 2025 are: Pablo de Vicente, Yebes Observatory, Spain (Networks) and Oleg Titov, Geoscience Australia (Analysis). The newly elected at-large members for the period February 2021 to February 2023 are: Alet de Witt (SARAO, South Africa), Yu Takagi (GSI, Japan), and Nadia Shuygina (IAA RAS, Russia).
